Fukuzumi in the ENEOS X PRIME GR Supra holds off the champions to take win!
In the GT300 race the D'station Vantage GT3 takes a consecutive win after Race 1.

Race 2 of the FUJI GT SPRINT RACE, Round 4 of the 2025 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series took place on August 3rd at Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563 m x 50 min.) in Shizuoka Prefecture. Round 4 this time was held as two sprint races, with the first Race 1 held on Saturday. On this day (Sunday) the qualifying and race of Race 2 were held. Unlike Race 1, this Race 2 was held as a 50-minute time limit race run in two separate races for the two classes.

In the GT500 class, Fukuzumi in the No. 14 ENEOS X PRIME GR Supra defeated last year's champions and winners of Race 1, the No. 1 au TOM'S GR Supra, to take the win. In the GT300 class, Tomonobu Fujii in the No. 777 D'station Vantage GT3 ran from pole position to take a perfect win, giving the team it's a second straight win following the one in Race 1 by Charlie Fagg.

In the 10-minute GT500 class Official Qualifying that began at 11:30 in the morning, the No. 14 ENEOS X PRIME GR Supra(Nirei Fukuzumi) won pole position. Finishing 2nd in the qualifying was the winner of Race 1 and the series point leader, the No. 1 au TOM'S GR Supra(Kenta Yamashita).

Then the Race 2 final race started at 4:50 in the afternoon. Although car No. 14 starting from the front row of the grid ran strongly in the lead after the start, it was followed closely by car No. 1 at a distance of 1 or 2 sec. The cars from 3rd position downward were left far behind as the two leaders fought a match race.

Although Fukuzumi in car No. 14 was able to build a lead of more than 2 sec., in the final stages of the race Yamashita in car No. 1 was able to cut the margin of lead down to less than 1 sec., but it was at this point that the 50-minute time limit elapsed. The checkered flag was waved to end the race on the 34th lap.

With this, car No. 14 reached the finish line first by a margin of 0.728 sec. For the No. 14 ENEOS X PRIME GR Supra took its first win of the season. Finishing in 2nd place was the 2 No. 1 au TOM'S GR Supra. Third place went to Hiroaki Ishiura in the No. 38 KeePer CERUMO GR Supra. As for the top finisher of the Nissan Z NISMO GT500 cars, it was the No. 12 TRS IMPUL with SDG Z (Kazuki Hiramine) in 5th place. Top finisher among the Honda CIVIC TYPE R-GT cars was the No. 64 Modulo CIVIC TYPE R-GT (Riki Okusa) in 8th place.

In the GT300 class, Tomonobu Fujii had won pole position in the No. 777 D'station Vantage GT3. In the final race, although No. 777 took the lead, it was followed at a distance of about 1 sec. by the 2nd-position grid starting No. 2 HYPER WATER INGING GR86 GT (Yuui Tsutsumi) in a tense race. However, in the end it was not able to close that gap and car No. 777 ran on unchallenged to a win from pole position. This gave the team a second straight win after the one in Race 1. Finishing in 3rd place was the No. 65 LEON PYRAMID AMG (Togo Suganami) that had started from 8th position on the grid, and this enabled the No. 65 drivers Naoya Gamou and Togo Suganami to maintain their lead in the Drivers standing.

Winner Comments

No. 14 ENEOS X PRIME GR Supra [GT500]

Nirei Fukuzumi: "From the start to the finish, we were able to win by holding off that fast car No. 1 (champions). This has given great confidence to the team and to me. Again today, we had to keep our eyes on No. 1 the whole time, and I kept on pushing without letting up for a moment. Yesterday was a regretful and sad race for car No. 14, and that experience surely led to today's great result. I am grateful to everyone. This is my first win since coming to the Toyota team, and next I want to see us win in one of the usual long races. I truly want to say thank you to everyone!"

No. 777 D'station Vantage GT3 [GT300]

Tomonobu Fujii: "In the JAF Grand Prix (*) earlier as well, I had a good performance record. Since this is the same type of race, I was happy to run alone in a GT sprint race again. But today there was some real pressure (because the team had won Race 1 yesterday) so I really wanted to get pole position and worked hard to win the race. Especially, the team worked hard from yesterday to fix the car and it performed so well as a result, and the Dunlop tires also kept their strong grip throughout the race, so I owe this win to everyone."

*From 2010 to 2013 sprint races held in a two-race format at Fuji not part of the SUPER GT series.
