Lorens Lecertua returns to Saintéloc Racing for the Nürburgring

In motor racing, as in life generally, things can change very quickly.

Originally signed up for the entire GT World Challenge Endurance Cup with the CSA Racing team, Lorens Lecertua will ultimately be on the starting grid for the fourth round of the season in an Audi run by Saintéloc Racing. Teaming up with Ezequiel Perez-Companc and Étienne Chéli, the Belgian will thus be reunited with his team from last year. The aim: a podium finish in the Silver Cup!

Lorens Lecertua and his team have had a summer full of uncertainty. In the wake of the Spa 24 Hours, the young Belgian and the CSA Racing team mutually agreed to end their partnership. Having contested just three races in the GT World Challenge this season, the 19-year-old Belgian did not yet know what his immediate future would hold.

“I was delighted to be accepted into McLaren’s GT3 Junior Driver programme and would have liked to continue with the team, but I could not find an opportunity,” explains the Namur native. “However, I was contacted by Sébastien Chetail, the team principal of Saintéloc Racing. In 2025, we had a brilliant season together. We made it onto the podium several times in the Silver Cup class, notably at the Spa 24 Hours, and we even secured a podium finish in the overall standings during a Sprint Cup race at Zandvoort. Sébastien’s enthusiasm for having me back with them won me over, and I am absolutely thrilled at the prospect of once again representing this team, which is both professional and family-oriented.”

By rejoining Saintéloc Racing, Lorens will also be back behind the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, in which he shone so brilliantly last season. “I had a brilliant time driving this car in 2025 and I think I will quickly get back into my stride,” he smiles. “Year after year, this Audi proves that it is still a top performer. For this three-hour race at the Nürburgring, I will be teaming up with the Argentine Ezequiel Perez-Companc and the Frenchman Étienne Chéli. With this line-up, Sébastien Chetail is convinced that we can fight for a podium finish in the Silver Cup, the category for young professionals and semi-professionals. Honestly, that would be the best present I could give him to thank him for his trust.”

Scheduled for 28–30 August 2026, the race at the Nürburgring will be the fourth of five rounds in the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup. So should we expect to see Lorens Lecertua finish the season in this championship? “Nothing has been confirmed yet,” the driver explains. “For now, I want to focus entirely on this race at the Nürburgring. We will consider what comes next later!”

Just a few kilometres from Belgium, Lorens Lecertua is keen to treat the Belgian supporters who will be making the trip to the Eifel Mountains. And for those who cannot be there in person, remember that all free practice sessions, qualifying and the race can be watched live and free of charge on the GT World YouTube channel, with commentary in various languages, including French and English.
