Widely regarded as the jewel in the crown of the championship calendar, the Principality of Monaco presents one of Formula E’s most demanding and prestigious challenges, with drivers tackling 19 iconic turns across the famous 3.337km circuit winding through the harbourfront streets of Monte Carlo.
The event also marks a home race for the team adding further significance to a landmark weekend for the team both on and off the track.
Alongside the racing action, Citroën will welcome over 300 guests, including media and dealers, in a dedicated VIP lounge, creating a premium environment to engage stakeholders at one of Formula E’s key global events
Heading into Monaco, both drivers arrive with strong records at the historic venue.
Nick Cassidy claimed victory at the Monaco E-Prix in 2023 after an impressive charge through the field from ninth on the grid, while also securing a podium finish in 2024. Cassidy has established himself as one of Formula E’s standout Monaco performers, with multiple consecutive podium appearances in the Principality.
Meanwhile, Jean-Éric Vergne brings extensive Monaco experience to the weekend as a two-time Formula E Champion and one of the series’ most successful drivers. Vergne secured a podium finish in Monaco in 2022 and has consistently challenged at the front around the tight and unforgiving street circuit.
Citroën Racing Formula E Team Principal Cyril Blais said:
“Monaco is a landmark event for Formula E and an important weekend for everyone involved with the team. Coming into the weekend, there’s a real sense of momentum within the group following another podium finish in Berlin and some positive steps forward in terms of performance and consistency across the race weekend. The team executed strongly in difficult conditions, and we were able to demonstrate encouraging pace, which gives us confidence heading into one of the most demanding events on the calendar.
“Racing on such an iconic circuit in front of a global audience is a fantastic opportunity to showcase both performance and the growing strength of the team. Monaco is always a special occasion for Formula E and with two races this weekend, there are plenty of opportunities to build on the progress we’ve made so far this season.”
Citroën Racing Formula E Team Driver Nick Cassidy said:
“Monaco is always one of the highlights of the season. It’s such an iconic circuit and there’s something special about racing Formula E cars around these streets. On a personal note, it’s my home race now and I’ve had some strong results here in the past, including the win in 2023, so naturally I want to repeat that performance. It’s a track that rewards commitment and precision, and with two races there are plenty of opportunities to score strong points.”
Citroën Racing Formula E Team Driver Jean-Éric Vergne:
“Every driver wants to perform well in Monaco. The circuit is incredibly technical and there’s no margin for error, which makes it one of the most rewarding races on the calendar. I’ve shown good pace here over the years and it’s a track I love to race, the objective this weekend remains the same as always: to maximise every session, qualify well and fight at the front across both races.”
